An AI interviewer is software that conducts a job interview: it asks questions, listens to the answers, asks follow-up questions and produces a score or report. Some run by text chat, some ask candidates to record video answers, and some hold a live two-way conversation by voice or video.

- Chat interviews: the candidate types answers to questions
- Recorded (one-way) video: the candidate records answers to a camera, and AI scores the recordings
