How Octrahire works, in plain words
What the AI does, what it does not do, who reviews it, and what happens to the data.
What the AI does
The AI interviewer asks each candidate the questions for the role, follows up on their answers and scores them against the same rubric for everyone applying to that role.
Every score comes with the answers behind it, so the people reviewing can check the reasoning.
What it does not do
It does not hire or reject anyone. A person at the employer makes every decision, and rejecting a candidate always needs a person and a recorded reason.
Human review and appeal
Any candidate can ask for a person to review their AI interview or a decision it informed, or object to automated processing, from their application page. The employer must respond within 2 working days, and the person who reviews it can change the outcome.
This follows the right to object to automated decisions in the UAE PDPL, and the human review rights in the DIFC and ADGM data protection laws.
Fairness and the bias audit
Every candidate for a role gets the same structured interview. Employers can see a fairness report comparing outcomes across groups, and every stage change is recorded in a decision log.
We are preparing a yearly bias audit, to be published on this page, with selection rates and impact ratios by nationality group, gender and interview language. The first one is not published yet.
Where data is held
Octrahire is hosted on AWS in Mumbai, India (ap-south-1) today. A UAE region is planned; this page will say when data can be held in the UAE. Some AI providers process data in other countries, and they do not train on customer content.
Consent and data
Candidates see what is recorded and agree before they start. Employers and universities choose how long data is kept. Candidates can download or delete their data from their profile at any time.
AI assistants and connected apps
An AI assistant, chat app or API key connected to Octrahire acts as the person who connected it, with the same permissions and blind review, and only the access they chose. Assistant access is read-only today. As actions arrive, high-stakes ones will ask for confirmation, each will be recorded with the app it came through, and none will be able to delete candidates or interviews.
Certifications
Octrahire does not hold ISO 27001, SOC 2, ISO 42001 or the Dubai AI Seal today. We are preparing for ISO 27001 and SOC 2 by writing the policies and controls those audits ask for, such as access reviews, logging, incident response and backups, and we plan to apply for the Dubai AI Seal. A data processing agreement covering the UAE PDPL, DIFC and ADGM, in English and Arabic, is being drafted.
We will list a certificate here only once we hold it.
Does the AI decide who gets hired?
No. Octrahire's AI interviewer asks the questions, transcribes the answers and scores them against the role's rubric. Hiring or rejecting a candidate needs a person, who must record a reason. Candidates can ask for a person to review their interview, and the employer must respond within 2 working days. Integrity signals such as tab switches are shown to the reviewer as advisory notes and are never part of the score.
